up up and away...

So it's no secret that both my brother and I went through the Boy Scouts of Canada system when we were younger. Started off in Cub Scouts, then to Land Scouts, and I had a short stint with Venturers.

It's also no secret that I was a pudgy little kid growing up and even to this day I have kept some of it.

Here's what I'm getting at, recently I watched UP with Eli, Marty and Sophie after dinner at the Beer Bistro (another great place to eat btw). Great movie. Loved it. Storyline and everything was great but there's another reason why. Russell reminds me of myself when I was in Cub Scouts. No lies.

Look, it even has a 'W' for Wayne. When I find a picture of myself from Cub Scouts I'll upload it sometime for everyone's enjoyment. I know Sophie definitely enjoyed the uncanny resemblance during the movie, haha.

Anyway, my point is go watch the movie. Lots of fun, and while you're at it swing by the Beer Bistro for some interesting takes on meals and your selection of various beers. Check it out! http://www.beerbistro.com/

AsianAvenue to AsianAve and then Asian Bowl

Every so often I would flirt with the thought of writing in my Xanga site again ... my flirting thoughts materialized and now I'm here.

A lot of things have changed in the past 3 year hiatus from Xanga. One of the most notable things that changed is the metamorphosis of AsianAvenue.com to AsianAve. So no longer can I relive my 'glorious' high school days by reading old guestbook entries and looking at all the different 'shout outs' I had on my page. If memory serves me well I believe it was just a scrolling HTML text that had everyone's name on it .. and people would get upset if you weren't on that list (note: not just my shoutout list, but anybody's in general).

Anyway, to help me be more regular with this blog, I thought it would be pretty intresting to just post up different restaurants and eateries that are pretty good around town.

On that note, we'll start off with the first place:

Name: Fine Asian Bowl

Website: http://www.bowlasian.com/home.asp

Location: South-West on Bayview and Eglinton. Click here for the map.

Price Range: $10-$25 / person

Recommended items: Deep-fried Golden Crab, Pad Thai, Golden Chicken Curry, Deep Fried Banana

This is a restaurant the Eli and I frequent regularly. Recently we found out the name of the owner – his name is Ki / Key / Kee … something along those lines. Very nice man who runs this quaint yet chic looking little place.

Without fail we would order one of the recommended dishes every time we go there, and every time we would never be disappointed.

What did draw us there initially was their Pad Thai. What was so good about it? They didn’t use ketchup, sriracha and fish sauce as their base. On some lucky days they’ll serve it on a golden crisp bowl which adds another nice little dimension of texture to the dish.

Anyway, I suggest that everyone should go try this place out once at least. For the price you’re paying can’t really say you can go wrong with the quality of meal you get.

Song playing: Blue - You Make Me Wanna

Merry Christmas to everyone first and foremost =)

I can't fall asleep right now so I decided to update my xanga by recapping what's happened the past month.

So without saying whatever else, I'll just get into it, haha.

December 14th: Christmas Dinner with the House

Roasted chicken - usually I put the bacon on top of the skin, but this time around I put the bacon underneath the skin so that the meat will stay more moist. So if you see a lack of bacon action, it's because it's all under the skin, haha.

The rest of the food - (1) smoked ham (2) bbq sausage (3) garlic bread (4) stuffing & veggies (5) home fries (6) can't really see it from here but it's gravy

Oh right, and the lonely salad, hahaha.

December 15: Secret Santa with the 113 Westmount household

So we started off by saying that the youngest starts by giving their gift. The youngest this year was Karen.

Karen had Marty - he got a gym bag

Marty had Karen -_-;; - she got a tea set

Since we had to do it over again b/c of the broken chain, people agreed to let the oldest go after. So yah, that was me and I had Sophie - she got slippers and a children's book

Sophie had Eli - she got Chicken Soup for the Christian Women's Soul and a Dove Beauty Package (is that what it's called?? haha)

Eli had Tiffany - she got earrings from..I forgot that store .. haha, and I was there with Eli just a couple of days ago too.

Tiffany got Hao - he got a scarf from AE and the mother of all Kinder Surprises

Hao had Viet - he got the pocket watch, necklace, and ring from Full Metal Alchemist

Viet had me - I got the Million Dollar Man action figure, hahaha. How awesome is that?? hahahaha

Everyone together with their gifts =)

Hao playing with his Hentai Binoculars he got from the Kinder Surprise.

December 16th: Random cooking day

Not sure as to what to call this dish, but Marty says it's chicken cordon bleu. I just made it 'cause I thought it'd taste good, haha.

So here's the menu - (1) Chicken Cordon Bleu - it's chicken stuffed with prosciutto, havarti cheese, basil leaves, and roasted garlic butter wrapped with a little more prosciutto, breaded, fried a bit, then baked after that (2) lemon herb couscous (3) green beans (4) tea biscuit

December 21: Bethelehem Fever

hmmm. um, yah. No pictures from my end of things but if you want to see pics from here, check out other people's parazz sites, haha. Nobody uses imagestation anymore except me -_-;;

December 22: One year with Eli

We ended up going to Livingwater Restaurant and Cake Gallery in Unionville for our one year. It's a quiet little restaurant that's very homey and has very good prices as well.

For those wondering how Eli and I started going out, this comic strip pretty much sums up everything excep for what I said in the end...-_-;; hahaha.

Yeah...that's what my December has been so far. It's been pretty busy but lots of fun. Only 1 more term to go until I am done school. Kind of a scary thought, but exciting as well.

Merry Christmas to everyone once again, and hope to see all you's around.

Cheers =)

Stitches are out!

Just got the stithces on my thumb out today. Thumb is still a little sore, but heck, it's nice to know that I don't have stitches in it anymore.

... hmm .. this entry seems a little dry..so...hmmm...MORE VIDEOS! hehe

So this is a fight between Olaf Alfonso and Hayato 'Mach' Sakurai .. the fight lasts all of 1:28..it's great..haha

I didn't think much of this fight until I heard Olaf Alfonso's pre-fight speech, and Sakurai's post-fight comments...it's pretty hilarious..hahaha

Anyway, enjoy =)

Also, on a side note, Japanese commentators make the fight so much cooler..haha
